David & Jacqueline | Yosemite National Park, California

Never in my wildest dreams could I ever imagine photographing a destination wedding at Yosemite National Park.

Yosemite is surreal.

Many times through out the wedding, I tried to just take a pause & look around. Soaking it all in. Yosemite is majestic, incredible, gorgeous, magical, unreal at times. I can go on and on. You are surrounded by the open air, tall trees & mountains.

Standing on top of Glacier Pointe with one of my closest friends right before the ceremony began, we looked at the mountains. We looked at each other & asked, “Is this real? Is this really happening?” The answer was, YES! I was not only about to witness my dear friend of 15 years, marry the love of her life, but I was about to photograph it as well. A DREAM!

David has loved Jackie for the past 7 years. The first time he met Jackie, he went home & showed his mom her photo & said, “this is the woman I’m going to marry.” In the past 7 years, they became close friends. As they continued a beautiful friendship, David asked Jackie if he can get to know her as more than just a friend. Jackie said yes, but wanted to take the relationship slowly. Well, love had other plans, because soon after they began making plans to be married!

As they began planning their wedding, they thought, why not get married in a beautiful location that neither of them have ever been to. They love National Parks & their goal is to to visit every National Park in the country. Why not begin the first day of their new life at Yosemite? So the planning began.

They rented an Airbnb at a nearby town where the two of them & their families would stay & get ready. The morning started with getting ready photos & a first look. From there, we drove to Yosemite & the ceremony took place at Glacier Pointe, we took photos for the rest of the afternoon, before heading back to our Airbnb for dinner. A candlelit family dinner, with everyone sitting together, watching the sun go down. It was perfection. Take a look at Jacqueline & David’s wedding. I know you will love their wedding as much as we enjoyed photographing it.

As we pulled into their driveway. I couldn’t believe how beautiful the surrounding was.

Something that I love about the morning light is how soft & golden it is.

The following photos of Jackie & her mama really warms my heart.

Loved this moment of David’s mama seeing Jackie in her wedding dress for the first time.

David gave his parents gifts before heading out for family photos.

David’s grandma was the cutest!

Jackie decided to do a first look with your dad before her first look with David.

So pretty!!

Gifts for Jackie’s parents

Ready for his first look with his future wife!

So excited!!

The drive to Glacier Pointe is definitely worth it!

Seeing friends who traveled to Yosemite for their wedding! Everyone was in awe at the view!

Gorgeous Jackie! The view is pretty too 😉

Really glad I took these photos of her just admiring the mountains. Gave her a moment to soak it in!

Aren’t her niece & nephew adorable!?

LOVE this photos of Jackie & her mama.

Ceremony time!

David’s dad gave the first half of the talk in English. How special is that?

Can you see the waterfall in the background?

Jackie’s friend Jorge, gave the second half of the talk, in Spanish.

That ‘WE ARE MARRIED’ look!

Family formals are up next …

Found the prettiest little spot for Jackie’s family photos

Let’s get into Bride & Groom portraits.

No words.

Ready to head to the next spot!

Yup, she jumped over that wall AND climbed back over it. In heels. 🙂

Definitely another favorite of mine!

I can’t even begin to explain this view. I had never seen anything like it before!

Jackie had just mentioned that all she wanted was yellow leaves on her wedding dress & at that exact moment, a gust of wind came by & all of these yellow leaves began to fall.

It was a D R E A M. It didn’t seem real!

I told them to just enjoy this moment!

And they did. They held each other, while leaves fell around them.

Don’t worry we were very safe while taking this photo. Ivan was our watchman for these. We parked on the side of the road & ran across the street for these. I had to make sure my settings were just right. Just then cars began driving up, but slowed down & stopped for us to finish taking our photos. I LOVED THAT! Tourists lowered their windows & yelled, BEAUTIFUL as they drove by. Put a huge smile on my face.

Seriously, just perfect.

Another perfect spot. Believe me, we could have stayed in Yosemite much longer for more photos. I had to narrow them down to 4 spots, because we had to make it back to their dinner, which was about 2 hours away. The drive to each stop is about 30 mins. in between. This was our last stop for the day and it was perfect. Yes, you better believe I had a wedding day timeline ready for their day as well. 😉

A little gift for David from Jackie.

So sweet!

Back to their Airbnb for dinner.

David & Jackie had a long distance relationship, hence the paper airplanes. Love the tiny planes near the bottom! 😉

Dinner was delicious & joyful.

Jackie’s dad took out the guitar and played for his daughter. I thought that was so sweet!

First dance

First dance with Jackie’s dad

Time to cut the cake!

little Elliott was ready for cake! She is such a doll!!

Jackie cut the rest of the cake & David helped to serve. Really loved that.

And that’s a wrap for this beautiful wedding!!

THANK YOU Jackie & David for a wonderful day. Thank you for allowing us to be there with the two of you & your families.

Love you both!

xo, Abi
