Staying hydrated: tips & tricks

Y’all know, I love everything that has to do with fitness, nutrition, and health. & if you didn’t know that, well now you know 😉 I used to be one of those who hated water, found the taste to be bland & boring. When I started actually began taking an interest in nutrition, I kept hearing the same thing over & over- water! Drink your water! But 8 glasses a day!? It can seem daunting, believe me, I’ve been there. When I actually started keeping track of how many glasses of water I was drinking- I noticed that I was hardly drinking any water at all. Now, I’m drinking a gallon of water every single day. I know what you’re thinking, “a gallon!? That’s way too much, you’re going to drown.” Honestly, a gallon of water is what makes me feel good. When I keep on track of drinking a gallon of water every day, my skin is nice & clear, I feel hydrated & energized. I don’t have that sluggish, I don’t want to get out of bed feeling. I just feel better over all. Now, I’m not saying all of y’all need to go out and get yourself a gallon of water & carry it like a baby. We know our bodies, what’s good for us, not good for us. But if you are trying to eat a little bit better, trying to get healthy for medical reason, or maybe you are just tired of your clothes fitting snug, water my friends. Start drinking your water! Here are some tips that I do that helps me keep up with my water intake:

 Fresh lemonade. No sugar added.

Oh yes, my friends, no sugar. None of that. Just straight up water & lemon. I squeeze about 3 to 4 lemons into a pitcher of water (16 cups). Then I add a couple of slices to make it pretty. & I drink that entire pitcher all day long. So what are the health benefits…

  • Gives your immune system a boost.
  • Aids digestion.
  • Reduces inflammation.
  • Gives you energy.
  • Helps fight viral infections.
  • Balances PH levels.
  • Great for your skin.

& what if you think all of the above is just gross, okay don’t worry, this right here are little individual packs of raspberry green tea, that you can throw into your glass of water. I like to carry a couple of these in my purse, just in case I get a little light headed through out the day, running errands and need sugar, bread or some type of donut.

It for sure, helps with my sugar cravings. & keeps me on the right track.
